As for the local skim spot, he plays quite frequently at Playas Del Coco which he thinks is perfect for practicing basic techniques. But sometimes the waves there could get huge and aggressive. To Marco, Skimquest means finding new skim spot or master new tricks, always strive for better performance.

Gerardo Valencia is Marco’s skim idol as he always inspires him to try new things, face more challenges. “He motivates me to improve in every aspect of my life as a skimboarder and person. To be humble, work and fight for my dreams..”, said Marco. He won the semi-pro National champion in 2016 which he thinks is one of the best skim memories. And for the future of the skimboarding, he is sure that there will more sophisticated high-tech material for the skimboard. He also hopes the sport will become as popular as other major sports such as basketball.

Besides skimboarding, he likes playing soccer, going beaches with neighbors and friends, enjoying the sunset, and spend time with family. Marco would like to thank his two sponsors “Natural Skimboard” and “GOVI”. He really appreciates the opportunity to be ambassador for his sponsors. “Skimboarding is not just a sport, it’s a lifestyle.” Marco told us.
